1. Cookies and similar storage

News Cyclades (https://newscyclades.gr) uses small browser files (cookies) and localStorage for the purposes below. localStorage is not a cookie, but similar consent rules apply. Essential storage supports services you request; optional cookies are loaded only after consent. Refusal does not block reading. Contact: newscyclades.gr@gmail.com.

2. Legal basis and categories

Essential storage is exempt from consent only where strictly necessary for the requested service. Statistics, advertising and personalization require prior, freely given consent under applicable electronic communications law and GDPR. Our controls send statistics → analytics_storage; advertising → ad_storage and ad_user_data; personalization → ad_personalization. Essential functionality and security remain enabled. Personalization does not enable an ad provider unless advertising is also enabled.

3. Storage inventory

This inventory distinguishes storage used by the app from provider cookies that may be set only when that service runs. Google’s exact cookies and lifetimes vary by browser, country and provider settings; the list does not imply that every cookie is present on every visit. Third-party cookies may be blocked by your browser. No Meta pixel is configured by this consent feature; visiting a Meta link opens an independent service.

4. Google Consent Mode v2

On a new visit, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage default to denied; functionality_storage and security_storage are granted, with a 500 ms wait_for_update. GA4 is not downloaded before statistics consent. The app-controlled AdSense script is not loaded before advertising consent. Explicit choices update the signals. A valid saved choice initializes later visits before the corresponding script loads. Consent Mode communicates preferences; it does not replace a Google-certified consent management platform where Google requires one.

5. Change or withdraw consent

Use Cookie Settings in the footer or the button below. Accept all and Reject all have equal prominence, or save individual categories. Preferences expire after 12 months or a policy version change. Withdrawal stops future optional tracking, removes accessible first-party analytics/advertising cookies and may reload the page to stop already-running scripts. It cannot erase data already lawfully processed or remove cookies belonging to other domains. If local storage is blocked, a choice applies only to the current page session and you will be asked again.

Embedded services

YouTube videos and the TradingView market widget are blocked until Personalization is enabled. Loading these services shares IP/device information with Google/YouTube or TradingView and may involve provider storage governed by their policies; no provider cookie is implied to exist before the widget loads. 6. Browser and third-party controls

You can delete cookies and site data, block third-party cookies or use private browsing through your browser settings. Clearing necessary storage may sign you out and reset language/consent choices.

External opt-outs do not automatically change our saved choices. The Privacy Policy explains processing, recipients, retention and your rights.
